2000 The quiet river

The state government covered up the river and called the area Legaran Segget. Pathways were built around it for tourists and locals to walk by. At the time, the temporary closing of the river was the most feasible way to deal with the issue of the river’s stench. The once majestic Sungai Segget now lay underneath layers of concrete, hidden away from residents and tourists.
